Grüner Strom Label e.V. certifies green electricity and biogas tariffs, but also wants to act consistently environmentally conscious and responsible beyond that. That's why the team has opted for sustainable benefits in kind to invest in our environment, our team and our cities. Daniel Craffonara, Managing Director of Grüner Strom Label e.V., says: "As a certifier of green energy products, sustainability does not stop with business processes for us, but shapes the entire association DNA. With the GuudCard, we want to create a positive impact beyond the boundaries of the workplace and contribute to a livable, diverse city together with the entire team. This is a win-win situation for local businesses but also for our employees*, who may discover their city all over again."
What is the GuudCard?
With GuudCard, companies can get involved with their employees for their location and the environment. The GuudCard is a non-cash benefit card that is topped up each month by employers with up to 50 euros free of tax and social security contributions and with which employees can consume at sustainable locations. These are, for example, organic supermarkets, second hand stores or cafés, which are checked by GuudCard based on over 30 ESG criteria. In this way, companies can promote sustainable consumption decisions by their employees through benefits and achieve a positive impact.
With the "green" GuudCard, employees can buy sustainable goods and services with tax benefits - either online or offline. An interactive map helps cardholders discover responsibly managed stores in their city. They can choose from a variety of categories, such as food, clothing, cosmetics, leisure and many more. Locations range from small, owner-operated cafés to yoga studios and hairdressers to organic supermarkets like Alnatura.
Liveable cities and ecological products instead of classic fuel card
What sustainable impact would companies have if all their employees spent 50 euros a month on ecological and fair products? This is the vision of the founders of GuudCard: to promote sustainable consumption decisions by employers and thus make them the norm. "In addition to the big players, however, it is particularly important to us that the small, locally anchored places gain more visibility through GuudCard and our map, and thus more access," says Co-founder of GuudCard, Alina Friedrichs. "GuudCard's vision is of livable and colorful cities, and that requires a diverse range of products and services with committed entrepreneurs in the background." In plain language, this means moving away from the classic fuel card, which promotes climate-damaging behavior, to a shopping card with a positive effect on cities and the environment. "In this way, we want to make sustainable consumption easier and more affordable, and give companies an easy way to make a positive impact together with their employees," explains Susanna Mur, co-founder of GuudCard. About the introduction of GuudCard in Grüner Strom Label e.V. the team and the environment is happy!
