Almost every energy supplier today offers green electricity or green power, natural gas or climate gas - but not every tariff brings about an actual environmental benefit. In addition to strict procurement criteria, the tariffs we certify also fulfill an investment obligation.
The duty of the providers
Energy providers that offer a certified electricity or gas tariff subsidize with a fixed amount per kilowatt hour consumed to support the expansion of renewable energies. and innovative energy transition projects. In this way, consumers and energy providers jointly support the energy transition.
Most projects are implemented by the local energy providers themselves. These can be energy generation plants, but also projects in the sectors of mobility transition, energy infrastructure, energy efficiency, and other energy transition-serving projects such as nature conservation, development cooperation, and education.

Energy Transition Fund
For label holders who do not fulfill their investment obligation themselves, we have a central Promotion Fund the Energy Transition Fund. This gives you the opportunity to apply for funds for your Energiewende project.
To be eligible, you must be a customer of a Green Electricity or Green Gas certified tariff. In addition, your project is subject to the same criteria that energy providers must meet in their investments.
Applications for funding can be submitted at any time. The use of funds of the Energy Transition Fund is regularly audited and its compliance is independently confirmed.
