The Grüner Strom Label e.V. is sponsored by several non-profit associations whose purpose is to protect the environment, promote renewable energies and use energy sparingly, efficiently and in a manner that conserves resources. The quality labels Green Electricity and Green gas are the only eco-energy labels in Germany that are recommended and supported by leading environmental associations.
Through their voluntary work on the board and in the general meeting, they continue to play a key role in shaping certification to this day. Changes in the criteria, for example - the most important basis for the content of the labels - must be discussed and approved by the supporting associations.
NABU is one of the largest environmental associations in the Federal Republic of Germany and is well known in large parts of the population. More than 620,000 members and sponsors actively support our commitment to people and nature, and full-time staff in 16 state associations are committed to NABU's concerns.
BUND works at all levels and is supported by over 580,000 people: Nationwide, there are over 2,000 volunteer BUND groups that tackle the issues that matter directly in their region. It is committed - for example - to ecological agriculture and healthy food, to climate protection and the expansion of renewable energies, and to the protection of endangered species, forests and water. It is one of the major environmental associations in Germany.

6,500 physicians, medical students and sustaining members. That is IPPNW Germany. Worldwide, there are even more: several thousand physicians in over 60 countries on all five continents are working for a peaceful, nuclear-free and humane world. They were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985 for their commitment.
The Consumer Initiative sees itself as a political association and pursues the guiding principle of a society that is worth living in and sustainable. This requires staying power, a multitude of small steps and the cooperation of many actors.
EUROSOLAR aims to replace nuclear and fossil energy quickly and completely with renewable energy and sees a solar energy supply as the decisive prerequisite for the preservation of the natural foundations of life and for a sustainable economy.
Go to professional support of the association's work, Grüner Strom Label e.V. established a permanent advisory board in 2014. The aim is to bring together various stakeholders in the energy market and to discuss perspectives and positions on the strategic goals and issues of the association.
The expertise of the Advisory Board is incorporated into the Further development of the labels Green Electricity and Green Gas. The broad-based committee includes personally appointed representatives from business, science and society. They contribute their knowledge and their own point of view, which does not necessarily correspond to the agreed position of the organization they work for.
