First only on weekends, then also on weekdays for commuters - the concept was so well received that a larger vehicle was soon needed. Last September, Energiedienst AG sponsored the purchase of a new electrically powered van with seven seats with funds from customers of its Green Electricity-certified green power product NaturEnergie Gold.
- Promotion: 2.000 €
- Zead of the promotion: 2016
- Subject of the promotion: A Nissan e-NV200 electric van, used as a community bus
- Destination: The citizens' bus enables better infrastructure in rural areas with environmentally friendly electric mobility through social commitment
In the meantime, the departure times of the citizens' bus are included in the official public transport timetable. The e-bus improves the infrastructure in the rural region in an environmentally friendly way. Previously, some districts could no longer be reached by public transport in the evenings and there were no connecting services for rail passengers. Thanks to the voluntary commitment of the 26 drivers, use of the citizens' bus is also free of charge. In the area where the Murger Bürgerbus operates, there are electric charging stations of the charging network my-e-car, also an Energiedienst AG infrastructure project funded with money from the Green Electricity Certification. At these charging stations, the bus refuels green electricity with Grüner Strom-Label and thus travels completely CO2-free.
The citizens' initiative Murg in transition pursues the goal of creating good living conditions with low local resource consumption at the same time. With the citizens' bus, it combines social commitment with climate protection and electromobility, thus creating a major contribution to the sustainable development of its community.
