The educational project "Learning to Save Energy" stopped off at two elementary schools in Constance in November 2017. More than 340 elementary school children from grades one to four took part in the event. They were given an explanation of the meaning of basic terms relating to energy, an overview of the different fossil and renewable energy sources, and practical energy-saving measures. The focus was on conveying knowledge in a motivating and playful way.
The 90-minute "Energy Saving Learning Experience" unit was an all-round success at the two elementary schools, because: not only were the children enthusiastic and eager to learn during the "learning theater", but they also internalized energy-saving measures that were easy to implement.
Stadtwerke Konstanz has green electricity tariffs in its product range that have been awarded the Green Electricity Label. The core criterion of the Green Electricity certification is that the electricity providers promote the expansion of renewable energies with a fixed amount per kilowatt hour sold. In total, more than 1,300 energy transition projects have already been implemented and co-financed in this way, one of which is the "Learning to Save Energy" educational program.
