Bonn, October 20, 2023. green energy provider SAUBER ENERGIE is expanding: on the one hand, its portfolio by having additional green electricity tariffs certified. On the other hand, SAUBER ENERGIE is promoting the expansion of renewable energies, because in order to receive the Grüner Strom-Label, energy providers must invest a fixed amount per kilowatt hour consumed in innovative energy transition projects.
SAUBER ENERGIE's newly certified green electricity tariffs include heat electricity and forest bonus. The heat electricity tariff is specially designed for the operation of heat pumps and helps to save energy costs. In most cases, the electricity consumption of the heat pump is recorded and billed by a separate meter.
"We are pleased to be able to offer an environmentally friendly way of heating with the certification of SAUBER ENERGIE Wärmestrom. Not only are we thus advancing the heating revolution, but we can also promote the expansion of renewable energies together with our customer:s," said Eugen Schupmann, Sales Manager at SAUBER ENERGIE. "With the SAUBER STROM Waldbonus, we bring together the best of both worlds: An attractively priced bonus product with the guaranteed investment in energy transition projects. A clear win-win."
Every two years, the certified green electricity tariffs are reviewed according to a demanding catalog of criteria. Sponsors of the label include the major environmental associations such as the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), the Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany (BUND) and the German Environmental Aid (DUH), as well as consumer associations and peace initiatives. Together, they are continuously developing the Grüner Strom-Label's certification criteria.
The core criterion of the Grüner Strom-Label is the promotion of new energy transition projects, such as photovoltaic systems, wind turbines as well as energy efficiency, e-mobility or educational measures. So far, more than 1,800 energy transition projects have been co-financed and realized with over 92 million euros. Customers of the certified green electricity tariffs thus support the expansion of renewable energies through their electricity purchases.
