As part of the Ludwig Erhard Summit, the newspaper for municipal business (ZfK) presented the SustainabilityAward for the first time this year. Stadtwerke Menden was among the nine nominees with its "naturliebeStrom" product and was ultimately awarded the bronze reader prize. "We are very pleased and proud to be honored on this big stage," reports project manager Tina Haberle from the summit.

The tariff is a green electricity tariff that is certified with the Green Electricity label. This means that customers receive electricity from renewable energy sources. On the other hand, for every kilowatt hour of green electricity consumed, 1.0 cent flows into energy turnaround projects such as photovoltaic systems or regional nature conservation projects. As a result, several species and climate protection projects were implemented last year, such as the planting of meadow orchards and flowering areas.
