Project outline (max. 3,000 characters)

In a workshop lasting several weeks, the participants are taught the theoretical-technical basics of the various renewable energies. Different methods are used to adequately convey the diverse and exciting field of renewable power generation. The high importance of the embedding in socio-ecological and environmental-political areas of renewable energies will be worked out with the participants and, among other things, made tangible by means of many practical examples. The interdisciplinary nature of this workshop is also reflected in the combination of theory and practice. The participating students plan, dimension and build two self-sufficient mobile solar power stations in a practical project. By lending the mobile solar power stations to various (student) groups and initiatives on a long-term basis following the construction project, the topics of sustainability, renewable energy and the energy transition are further pushed and discussed. The generation of renewable electricity is thus brought to many students in an understandable and tangible way. By conceptualizing the teaching, respectively learning and building phase as "open space", which in this project means that although the workshop is advertised without restrictions, a focus is placed on a non-homogeneous group constellation. For example, refugees will be encouraged to participate as well as international students or even non-students. In this way, we expect the important, multidimensional illumination from different life realities on the renewables respectively the energy transition in a wide variety of social fields.
Professional external instructors lead parts of the practical project and provide various technical inputs in the theory part.

The workshop phase has already been completed and the material costs have been approved by the General Student Committee (AStA) of the TU Berlin. However, the costs for the instructor in the amount of 1.200 € are not covered. In order to complete the project and to build up the distribution structure, we need an injection of funds to focus on the actual goal of dissemination and educational work on the topic of renewable energies and energy transition.
So far, the fee costs for the speakers are borne privately by the organizers of the workshop, since the student initiative has no funds. In order to continue to work on renewable energy topics with fun and joy and to advance the energy transition, it is important to us not to bear the costs for this workshop exclusively privately.

Green gas under the microscope

A recently published investigation by the non-profit media company "CORRECTIV" reveals that many German energy suppliers advertise their gas tariffs as environmentally friendly, even though they are far less green than advertised.
