In addition to natural gas from the North Sea, "NaturEnergiePlus Biogas" consists of ten percent biogas produced in a plant near the town of Geislingen in Baden-Württemberg. In the biogas plant, biogenic residues, such as kitchen waste or plant residues, are processed into biogas in an environmentally friendly manner.
"The Green Gas seal of approval is known for its particularly demanding award criteria. That is why we are very pleased about the award for our biogas product. This is an incentive for us to consistently continue on our path and offer sustainable energy solutions for everyone," says a delighted Gunter Jenne, Managing Director of NaturEnergiePlus.
As the only biogas label in Germany, Green Gas is also supported and recommended by environmental associations such as NABU and BUND. Annual checks are carried out to ensure that the extensive criteria, such as the type and origin of the biogas raw materials, are met. If all criteria are met, Grüner Strom Label e.V. awards the biogas product for another year.
"Not everywhere that says organic on it is also organic in it - unfortunately, this also applies to biogas products," said Rosa Hemmers, chairwoman of Grüner Strom Label e.V. "Our seal of approval is therefore an important orientation aid for consumers: where our logo is stuck on, they really do get environmentally friendly biogas."
The Green Gas seal of approval stands for the ecologically compatible production of biogas at all processing stages, right down to the raw materials. For example, "NaturEnergiePlus Biogas" uses only biogenic residual and waste materials. Biogas is thus an important component for a 100 percent renewable energy supply.
