Every year, the squares around St. Blasii Cathedral are transformed into the atmospheric Braunschweig Christmas Market. This is sustainable on several levels: The 'light magic' with the glittering treetops around the Christmas market is generated with energy-saving LED lights, drinks at the Christmas market are served exclusively in reusable cups, and in the immediate vicinity in the city area there are a total of 17 fast charging stations for electric cars. E-vehicles also park for three hours free of charge.
The electricity for the Christmas market in Braunschweig comes from 100% renewable energies, supplied with the Green Electricity certified green electricity tariff BS Naturstrom Gold from BS|Energy.
For every kilowatt hour of Green Electricity-certified green electricity consumed, a fixed amount of funding flows directly into new energy transition projects. This not only lights up children's eyes at the Braunschweig Christmas market, the market itself is a shining example of how the energy transition can be advanced.
This year, the 150 showmen at the Braunschweig Christmas Market again have the opportunity to point out the power supply with certified electricity from renewable energies directly at their stand with a corresponding sticker or a sign.
