Climate protection on the road is becoming even more attractive: NATURSTROM AG is now offering a new tariff certified by the Green Electricity Label especially for owners of electric cars. The naturstrom emobil offer not only ensures that one's own vehicle is powered 100 percent by electricity from renewable energies and is therefore climate-neutral, but also that a subsidy automatically flows into energy transition projects with every recharge. The green electricity label has already enabled over 1,300 projects to be implemented with over 55 million euros in funding.
"Electromobility improves air quality in cities and contributes to climate protection if the electricity comes from renewable sources," says Oliver Hummel, member of the board at NATURSTROM AG, explaining the motivation behind the new naturstrom emobil offer. "In its current form, road traffic burdens people and the environment through noise and pollutant emissions. And through the combustion of gasoline and diesel, traffic causes around one fifth of the total climate-damaging greenhouse gas emissions in Germany. We have to change that - and quickly."
The Green Electricity label is the standard on the electromobility market for all those who want to promote the transport and energy turnaround with genuine green electricity: The Green Electricity criteria not only ensure that 100 % of genuine green electricity is refueled. They also guarantee that a fixed subsidy amount per kilowatt hour is invested in energy transition projects. This is how more and more good e-mobility projects are being implemented.
Congratulations on the 1,000 charge card
Such an electric car also wants to be recharged, which is why 1,000 customers already have the NATURSTROM charging card, which can be used to fill up with green electricity certified by the Green Electricity Label at charging points. With the card, drivers of electric vehicles can charge at most public charging stations throughout Germany at a standard price. Over 600 of these are now supplied by NATURSTROM. So anyone who charges at them is supporting the energy transition at the same time.
New funding opportunities for e-mobility
In order to enable even more customers to charge high-quality green electricity in the future, changes within the promotion of e-charging stations through the Green Electricity Label were implemented in July. From now on, the subsidy model for e-charging columns will be divided into two stages: Support level 1 allows the installation of an e-charging pole without the addition of a new RE plant. In this case, the project receives a subsidy of 20 percent. This approach can be used for a maximum of 50 percent of the subsidies. The construction of a charging pole with additional construction of a new RE plant falls into funding stage 2 and receives a flat-rate subsidy of 30 percent. Unlike in stage 1, there is no restriction in stage 2 with regard to the amount of subsidies or the number of charging columns / charging boxes.
