"know.choose.desire" is the motto of this year's annual conference of the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE), which will take place in Berlin on May 29, 2017. Central questions will be discussed such as: How do we live sustainable development? What is important, what can and must "I", my organization, "the" policy, "someone" change? What must and what can be done faster? What is realistic, what is not - in the "sustainability country" Germany?
The annual conference itself is also intended to be a model for sustainable action. This ranges from the conscious travel of the participants by public transport to the electricity consumption at the conference itself. Since no green electricity is available at the venue, the RNE has opted for the green electricity compensation model ... in öconcert, which was developed especially for such events.
Based on the estimated electricity demand, a compensation payment is determined. This amount corresponds to the total cost of a solar plant that could supply the event with the sufficient amount of green electricity over its lifetime. The calculated amount is used to support a Green Electricity certified project - for the energy transition.
