On December 1, 2023, there will be a change of management in the certification department of the Grüner Strom-Label. After almost four years as department head at the Green Electricity Label Association, Barbara Fricke is moving to the Bonn city administration. She will be succeeded as co-head by Nina Cernohorsky and Eva Rausch, who are also part of the department.
This is a significant change for the association: "It is with great gratitude that we say goodbye to Barbara and wish her all the best for her new challenge. We are losing a valuable employee who managed her department very well and developed it in many ways. At the same time, we are delighted that Eva and Nina, two proven and competent employees, will form the new management duo and thus ensure continuity in the certification process," emphasizes Managing Director Daniel Craffonara.
End of a successful chapter
Since January 2020, Barbara Fricke has headed the Green Electricity Certification department as an alert mind and passionate expert. Under her leadership, great projects such as the expansion of the funding areas or the revision of the Grüner Strom criteria for green electricity were realized with the greatest possible added value for the energy transition. The valuable contributions of her work have advanced the Grüner Strom Label association.
Her networking activities have also already brought determined cities together on energy issues. "I have gained a good insight into how committed municipal utilities are to driving forward the energy transition and I am looking forward to taking this expertise with me into my new role," says Barbara Fricke. Sustainability in the energy sector will therefore continue to be a priority in her job. The energy transition is a major challenge that society can only overcome together.
New management - well-established team
With the change in personnel from December 1, 2023, the green electricity product certification department will be made up of a co-head, a working student who will work as a consultant from March, and soon a fourth head. Eva Rausch and Nina Cernohorsky, who previously worked as a coordinator and consultant in the department, have both been part of the Grüner Strom Label team for some time. They are taking up their new management positions with a wealth of experience and will continue their work with commitment and expertise. With this well-established team, the association's numerous projects will continue to run with proven reliability.
The concept of co-management offers the possibility of being able to act with great flexibility in projects. In teamwork, the distribution of responsibility will emphasize the broad professional expertise. The highest environmental standards in the certification of sustainable electricity offers are a matter close to the heart of the association!
We wish Barbara Fricke all the best for her new chapter in life and are very much looking forward to the time with Nina Cernohorsky and Eva Rausch as the new management team in Green Power Certification!
