The green electricity tariffs support energy transition projects: For example, 0.5 cents per kilowatt-hour of the private customer rate "Chancen geben Privat" (Give Private Opportunities) goes toward the expansion of renewable energies. The eco-electricity label of the environmental associations requires a fixed amount per kilowatt hour consumed to be invested in energy transition projects. The subsidies have now been used to support over 1,300 projects with more than 55 million euros. These include many different projects, such as photovoltaic and wind power plants or tenant electricity projects, which contribute to the success of an environmentally compatible and decentralized energy transition.
Stadtwerke Hersfeld: Creating added value for the environment
"Hersfeld Strom Natur and Grüner Strom-Label - real added value for our environment. Our green electricity customers will not only be supplied with clean green electricity, at the same time we will use the subsidies for investments in the expansion of renewable energies on site in Bad Hersfeld. In this way, every customer can transparently see their contribution to the energy transition," explains Markus Gilbert, Managing Director of Stadtwerke Hersfeld GmbH.
In Bad Hersfeld, the subsidies will be used, among other things, to expand charging stations for electric vehicles. Electric vehicles can be "refueled" in an environmentally friendly way at three locations with a total of eleven charging points operated by the municipal utility in Bad Hersfeld. It goes without saying that the electricity comes 100 percent from renewable energies.
Stadtwerke Pulheim: Making the energy transition a tangible experience
Stadtwerke Pulheim also wants to implement exciting energy transition projects: "For us as a local municipal utility, it was clear from the very beginning that we did not want to make any compromises when it came to natural power. The transparent premium approach and the design options for the use of subsidies in tangible local projects fulfill the promise of sustainability - this strengthens customer loyalty and can be conveyed in a credible manner. For Stadtwerke Pulheim with our local responsibility, the cooperation with Grüner Strom Label e.V. is therefore ideal, " says Harry Gersabeck, Managing Director of Stadtwerke Pulheim. Already 250 customers have opted for the Grüner Strom-Label certified electricity tariff "Pulheim|Naturstrom" and thus support the expansion of renewable energies.
Ecologically valuable and social tenant power projects are planned and implemented by our third new label recipient "SOLARIMO". SOLARIMO is a young, dynamic start-up from the heart of Berlin with the mission to bring the energy transition to cities. The company plans, implements and operates solar tenant power projects throughout Germany and thus drives the energy transition forward.
We are delighted to have such diverse and innovative new providers joining us in advancing the energy transition every day!
