A residential quarter in Überlingen on Lake Constance shows what climate-friendly building and living can look like. With solar panels on the roofs, energy-efficient construction and e-charging stations, Polarstern and Baugenossenschaft Überlingen eG are setting an example for the energy transition. Supported by the Grüner Strom-Label investment commitment, the tenant electricity project in the district is an important step towards a green future.
How a noise barrier becomes a solar plant and drives the energy transition
The "SeeEnergie ÖkostromHeimat" green electricity tariff from Stadtwerke Konstanz was awarded the Grüner Strom-Label. The electricity comes from photovoltaic systems that were built on a noise barrier. The environmental associations' seal of approval obliges energy providers to invest in the energy transition. For example, the photovoltaic system on the roof of the inclusive Seehörnle Hotel run by Caritas was co-financed.

Solar for senior citizens - residential park equipped with renewables
19 bungalows with 19 photovoltaic systems: a residential park for senior citizens in Harreshausen, Hesse, is powered by solar energy. The PV project was supported by funding from the Grüner Strom-Label and Grünes Gas-Label energy quality seals.
