Bonn, October 27, 2020. Since Monday, October 26, 2020, the new tariff comparison portal "Compare Green" (www.vergleich-dich-gruen.de) online. The Grüner Strom Label e.V. and its supporting associations NABU, BUND, EUROSOLAR, Deutscher Naturschutzring, IPPNW and the Verbraucher Initiative are thus creating a comparison offer exclusively for green electricity and biogas tariffs. The aim is to provide consumers with a transparent and independent overview of all green tariffs that have been awarded the Green Electricity or Green Gas seal of approval.
"We have created a comparison portal here, which gives an objective overview of green electricity and biogas offers that are certified according to the highest environmental standards," explains Daniel Craffonara, managing director of Grüner Strom Label e.V. "This means that no provider is favored by commission or advertising. "Behind vergleich-dich-gruen.de stand several independent, non-profit organizations, which represent a broad spectrum of civil society commitment. Consumers*innen can be sure: by each tariff choice the energy turnaround is promoted."
Around 70 national and regional energy providers are represented with their certified eco-tariffs. In addition to the usual filter options, customers can also search for purely green suppliers or municipal and local utilities. In addition, the amount of funding per kilowatt hour that each energy provider invests in energy transition projects in accordance with the standards of Grüner Strom Label e.V. is displayed. The funding effect of each individual tariff is guaranteed by the detailed verification processes of the Green Electricity and Green Gas certifications.
The core criterion of Green Electricity certification is that electricity suppliers support the expansion of renewable energies with a fixed amount per kilowatt hour sold. So far, more than 1,400 energy transition projects have been realized and co-financed in this way, for example photovoltaic and wind power plants, or projects in the field of electromobility. With biogas according to Green Gas standards, the ecologically compatible production of biogas is ensured at all processing stages - from the raw material to the point of consumption.
The new portal identifies the quality and credibility of energy products and promotes them at the same time: through clearly structured visibility and transparency, environmentally oriented energy providers are strengthened and the market penetration of high-quality green energy products is supported. "vergleich-dich-gruen.de" offers all consumers the opportunity to actively participate in an energy transition that is nature-friendly, decentralized, citizen-oriented, public welfare-oriented, fair and pollutant-free through their purchase decision.
