Sparda-Bank Ostbayern relies on environmentally friendly green electricity generated by REWAG. Since the beginning of 2018, the headquarters in Regensburg and 18 other branches of Sparda-Bank Ostbayern have been using the electricity tariff rewario.strom.natur, which bears the Green Electricity label.
Energy suppliers with this seal of approval commit to investing a fixed amount of cents per kilowatt hour consumed in energy transition projects. In this way, customers of Green Electricity-certified tariffs help to further expand renewable energies. In total, more than 1,300 energy transition projects have already been implemented and co-financed.
The green electricity in the rewario.strom.natur electricity tariff comes 100 percent from hydropower from the Pfaffenstein hydropower plant in Regensburg and thus directly from the region. Olaf Hermes, CEO of REWAG, is very pleased that Sparda-Bank Ostbayern is showing commitment to sustainability and strengthening its regional roots by supplying its branches with green electricity from REWAG in the future.
