Project outline (max. 3,000 characters) | Project outline "Solar power for the Wallstrasse daycare center
1. project description: The project "Solar Power for the Wallstrasse Daycare Center" combines practiced climate protection with an environmental educational offer. The load curve of the daycare center's electricity consumption is ideal for high self-consumption, as the highest consumption occurs during lunchtime. The current and monthly yield of the PV system is made visible with a child-friendly display board in the daycare center (Visikid), allowing the adaptation of electricity consumption to the changing electricity supply to be incorporated into the daycare center's daily routine. The use of PV electricity is accompanied by energy efficiency measures: the implementation of a hydraulic balance as well as the replacement of a refrigerator and freezer with high consumption and the conversion of lighting to LED.
The photovoltaic system on the daycare center expands the commitment to climate protection already made in the Zweibrücken church district, since a total of seven PV systems have already been installed in recent years and more are planned.
a. Technical concept: A system of 10 kWp is planned on the south-facing roof. This means that the roof will be fully utilized. The system will generate approximately 10,000 kWh per year. Since the kindergarten consumes about 16,500 kWh of electricity per year, it can consume 65.7 % of the solar electricity production itself (coverage rate). In real terms, the kindergarten can cover 39.5 % of its electricity with solar power (self-consumption 39.5 %). The photovoltaic system consists of 40 monocrystalline cells of Solar World AG, Bonn (SW 250 poly) Piko 10.1, grouped in two strings and costal to the inverter. The system is installed in the external lightning protection. In the corridor area of the daycare center, the child-friendly display panel "VisiKid" from IKS Photovoltaik will be installed. In order to exploit efficiency potentials, the heating system will be optimized: Hydraulic balancing and conversion to LED lighting are expected to reduce electricity and fuel consumption. The replacement of a refrigerator and freezer is also expected to reduce the base load current.
b. Financing plan and economic viability According to the most favorable offer from Solar World AG, Bonn, the PV system will cost €20,300.00 net, which corresponds to a price per kWp of €2,030.00. In addition, there will be approximately €200 for the installation of the meter, ongoing costs for insurance and maintenance, and probably the replacement of the inverter. Since consumer and producer are in one hand, the reduced EEG levy on self-consumption does not have to be paid. The Visikid display panel is fully covered by subsidies from the German Federal Office of Export Control (BAFA).
