By candlelight and good music, together reflect on our responsibility towards climate and environment. On Saturday 27.03. at 20:30 it is again: Light off for the planet!
Once a year, millions of people, cities and companies turn off their lights together for one hour during the worldwide Earth Hour. The campaign is intended to motivate people to live and act in a more climate-friendly way. According to WWF (Foundation for Nature and Biodiversity Conservation), Earth Hour is the largest global environmental movement of all time! For the fifteenth time, the lights of landmarks and houses around the world go out.
It is necessary to act soon in the context of environmental protection to avert future environmental and natural disasters and to advance the energy turnaround. The common hour in complete darkness should serve as a wake-up call and encourage a rethink.
Various climate protection events are taking place around the world. Also, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, people should participate in Earth Hour from home. The Polar Star is also hosting a streamed live concert this year starting at 8:30 p.m. with the band Kytes. Those interested can tune in via Youtube, Facebook or Instagram and listen to the sounds of indie and electro in the contemplative candlelight.
Green power for the energy transition NOW!
The switch to sustainable energy supply is the linchpin in the energy transition. The certification and promotion of green electricity has been promoted by Grüner Strom-Label e.V. for more than 20 years. For every kilowatt hour of certified green electricity, a fixed amount goes directly into new energy transition projects. More than 70 million euros have already been invested in over 1,400 ecologically valuable projects. Every consumer has the opportunity to switch to trustworthy green electricity and additionally do something for the energy transition.
