The promotion of an ecological energy supply is the guiding principle and vision of the Grüner Strom Label e.V. Logical consequence is that in the criteria of the two quality labels Green Electricity and Green gas criteria for the decentralized, nature-compatible expansion of renewable energies are anchored. The certified green electricity and Biogas products This sets them apart from the broad mass of supposedly green energy products, as the issue of natural compatibility hardly plays a role in most products.
Against this background, Grüner Strom Label e.V. launched a dialog forum on the topic of nature-compatible energy transition in 2016. The dialog forum was aimed at stakeholders from the renewable energy sector, the energy industry, environmental protection and nature conservation, representatives of public institutions and other interested individuals and organizations.
We conducted an online survey on this topic from July to December 2017. Participants were asked about the compatibility of different renewable energy plants with nature compatibility. 250 interested people participated. The survey does not claim to be representative and the results only reflect the opinion of the respondents.
The results of this survey are also incorporated into the further development of the Green Electricity and Green Gas labels.
An interesting partial result is: 97 percent of the respondents rate the compatibility of nature compatibility and solar energy generation systems on roofs and facades as 'fully compatible' or 'rather compatible' - a value that is significantly higher than for other renewable energies such as biomass or hydropower.
