"Enspire - Green Gas" is 100 percent climate-neutral and consists of ten percent biogas and 90 percent climate-neutral gas. The biogas is produced decentrally from residual and waste materials during sugar production directly from sugar beet. In a sugar factory in Anklam (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), which is designed to meet the highest environmental standards, sugar is first produced from regionally grown sugar beet. Residual and waste materials, such as the leaves of the beets, accumulate during production. These are mostly simply disposed of, even though they have real added value - namely for the production of biogas. Decentralized on-site production and the use of only residual and waste materials ensure a secure energy supply that conserves resources. Enspire fully offsets the emissions generated by the purchase of the remaining gas volumes with climate protection measures, so that ultimately 100 percent climate-neutral gas can be sold. This is guaranteed annually by the independent certification "Climate Neutral Gas Product" from TÜV NORD CERT GmbH.
The climate protection project selected for this purpose bears the "Gold Standard" climate seal developed with the WWF and other environmental associations, which guarantees the highest possible CO2 savings as well as the social and environmental benefits of the project. The project supported by Enspire will install approximately 100,000 cooking stoves per year in Kenya, which require significantly less fuel, as well as issue water filters to purify contaminated water. This will reduce flue gas emissions that cause climate, environmental and health problems.
Enspire - Green Gas is certified with the "Green Gas" label. The eco-label is the only biogas label in Germany that is supported by leading environmental associations such as NABU and BUND. It guarantees an ecological energy supply and gas produced in an environmentally compatible manner at all processing stages. The biogas can be credited as a partial compliance option with up to 10 percent for legal requirements in Baden-Württemberg.
Besides Enspire, there are only two other nationwide suppliers that carry the label. Among other things, the "Green Gas Label" monitors that no destruction of valuable habitats takes place during biogas production.
Enspire - Grüne Energie also invests 0.1 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) of green gas sold in the promotion and integration of renewable energies. For example, new decentralized biogas plants are being built, which in turn can be used to generate new, green gas.

About Grüner Strom Label e.V.
The Grüner Strom Label e.V. certifies green energy products. The association awards two seals of approval for this purpose: the Grüner Strom-Label for green electricity with added value and the Grünes Gas-Label for environmentally compatible biogas. The association is backed by non-profit environmental and consumer associations and peace organizations, including NABU, BUND, EUROSOLAR and the Verbraucher Initiative. Grüner Storm-Label or Grünes Gas-Label are the only seals of approval for green electricity and biogas in Germany that are supported and recommended by leading environmental associations. www.gruenerstromlabel.de
