Bonn, March 6, 2025: The Green Planet Energy cooperative is having its entire electricity portfolio certified with the Grüner Strom-Label as of January 1, 2025. The label makes it easier for consumers to navigate the opaque energy market and stands for 100 % green electricity and the expansion of renewable energies.

The key difference of the Grüner Strom-Label lies in its core criterion: the guaranteed investment in energy transition projects. By obtaining the label, Green Planet Energy undertakes to promote the expansion of renewable energies with a fixed amount per kilowatt hour consumed.

Anyone who buys their electricity from us can be sure that it really does come 100% from renewable energies and is not bought as dirty coal-fired electricity on the stock exchange and greenwashed with certificates of origin. That's why we go further than other providers and invest in energy transition projects across Germany. Community energy is particularly important to us. In the past, numerous innovative projects have already been supported with funding from Grüner Strom-Label. One example is the "ViBE" advisory network, which supports citizen energy communities in areas such as founding, professionalization and business development. A central aim of the project is to enable these communities to share their self-generated electricity - whether on site in the same building or via the public grid. This fits in well with Grüner Strom-Label's philosophy of supporting energy transition projects that focus on the common good and are close to the people.
Grüner Strom Label e.V. is delighted that Green Planet Energy's decision to have all tariffs certified means that further projects will now be added to the more than 1,900 that have already been realized. This will also make a difference together in the long term.
